The first appearance of the armed group Iparretarrak (IK) was in 1973, and the last action came in 2000. More than the author of a series of attacks with no injured, IK was a group that promoted political reflection.
Although the nationalism of Ipar Euskal Herria (Nothern Basque Country) was prior to its creation, the group managed to raise national conciousness and showed that the Basque conflict did not end on the border of the Bidasoa. IK reported that the Basque situation in Ipar Euskal Herria was really grave, and claimed the necessity of the struggle.
After remaining hidden for decades, a number of people managed to get over it, and they showed that the French influence and the dark economic future was not a fatality of Ipar Euskal Herria. Iparretarrak stood inside a large movement.
This book was made thanks to the testimonies of several activists belonging to IK, including Filipe Bidart, Gabi Mouesca and Ttotte Etxebeste as well as others who were in their environment.
