This book, which was written by Bobby Sands with some toilet paper and a pen hidden in his anus, is a heartbreaking testimony of fighting and dignity. It shows the situation which existed in prison, in Long Kesh before the own author and other nine men started a hunger strike which lead them to death in 1981.
In these pages, Bobby narrates without hiding anything, the situation which the prisoners went through in the war; in Ireland. The narration, terribly hard, is a story of courage and conviction: of some men and women who destroyed the wish of a whole empire.
